Vernon Robert Lanter

WINTERS [Runnels Co, TEXAS] - Vernon Robert Lanter, 65, died Wednesday [25 June 1997] at his home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday [28 June 1997] in Winters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Shoemake officiating.

Mr. Lanter was born in Cashmere, [Chelan Co] Wash., where he grew up, and served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He married Joyce Davis in 1956 in Winters and lived in Illinois for several years until returning to Winters in 1972. He was a farmer and rancher.

Survivors include his wife, of Winters; one son, Daniel Robert Lanter of Abilene; one daughter, Debbie Sudduth of Winters; two brothers, Dwight Lanter of Portland, Ore., and Duane Lanter of Seattle; one sister, Lois Lanter of Houston; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
