"Mr. F. E. [Finnis Ewing] Deakins of TX and a brother to J. B. [John Bell] Deakins of Chattanooga Valley, met with a sad bereavement. His [Finis Ewing DEAKIN's] two sons were at school. While bathing Lawrence [b. 1880] took the cramps. John [b. 1883] went to rescue him. Both were drowned. May 16, 1896"

While researching in Walker County, GA I discovered this book and made a copy of the page without knowing at the time who Finis Deakins (F.E. Deakins) was. I now know the F.E. is Finis Ewing Deakins.
