Review

"We had our annual Atoka Cemetery Meeting Saturday with 17 people

present. The weather was a little cool and windy of course but we had

it at the Arbor at the cemetery. Our president, James Richards,

couldn't  preside at the meeting as he had to leave to go to a wedding.

We have had a lot of faithful members who cannot make it because of

health problems. We're all getting older and it's hard to get the

younger generation interested." Sue PARKER SHIELDS

NOTICE

ANNUAL MEETING - MAY 25, 2013

Dear Members and Friends of Atoka Cemetery Association,

Spring is here and its time to get ready for the annual Atoka Cemetery

Association meeting. We have changed the meeting this year due to

conflicts for the 2nd and 3rd weekends in May. So, this year we will

meet SATURDAY, MAY 25, 2013. We will meet at the cemetery if the

weather is nice, and if the weather is bad we will meet at the Novice

United Methodist Church. Hopefully, since the meeting will be a little

later this time, the weather will be nice!

According to my records we had only one burial in Atoka this last year.

Mr. Rex L. Cate of Novice passed away on Tuesday, September 18,

2012. Rex was born November 12, 1923 in Coleman County and was

married to Leoda Mae (Bullard) Cate.

There are several graves from the last few years which don't have a

headstone. If you need help finding 'a place to get a headstone let

someone from the Association know. Also, if you want to "reserve" a

space for a family members we have markers where we can stake out

a burial place. Please let the Association know and it will be taken care

of.

The Association's meeting will begin at 10:00 with the business starting

at 11:00. At 12:00 we will share a potluck meal together. The bread,

plates, utensils and drinks will be provided.

Thank you for your generosity in giving to the Atoka Association to

keep the cemetery mowed and the grave sites maintained. If you

cannot attend and would like to contribute, please send your donations

to Atoka Cemetery Association, c/o Sue Shields, 699 CR 429, Novice,

TX 79538, PH: 325-723-2056. The website is www.atokacemetery.org.
