    * Ancestry.com message, May 25 7:40 PM?from BZEP57 (closed tree and did not offer access)?Hi - I discovered Ann when I was researching my husband's Smith family. He shares an ancestor with Ann Gillison Little - so he's something like "first cousin three times removed". Since all my information came from documents I found on ancestry, there isn't much I can add to what you have. I have the name of her husband as James, and a son Michael born Jan 1860 was on the 1861 census. I found a Michael Little age 11 on the 1871 census for Moffat, Dumfriesshire, working as a herd boy. A Michael Little fitting the description on the 1881 census - Residence - Glasgow Kinning Park, Lanarkshire, Scotland, employed as a tinsmith. If I have followed the right person, he arrived in Galveston, TX in 1886, and lived there through the 1930 census with his wife Mary who he married 1889 - they had no children. Don't know if this helps any, but I wish you well in your endeavor. [end] source S75

    Hi - I don't have any information on Michael Little's wife, but I did find the couple on both the 1910 and 1920 census living with or near a couple by the name of Stephenson. I was hoping that they were Mary's parents, but Mrs. Stephenson had no children according to the 1910 census. Perhaps Mary was their niece, but it didn't help me find anything about her.
    1910 Census: Engineer, Medical College - emigrated 1886 - Naturalized Citizen {Mary, emigrated 1889 on this one; married 20 years}
    1920 Census: Engineer, Medical College - emigrated 1886 - this one says PA, so if that is the case, his wife's name would be listed during that time - not sure if he filed before 1910
    1930 Census: Engineer, Medical College - emigrated 1886, Naturalized Citizen - how many medical colleges in Galveston? That might be a good place to find information about Michael.
    Possible date of death: 14 Oct 1948 in Galveston, Texas Certificate: 86961
    Interesting that his occupation was "tinsmith" on both the last census I believe I found him on in Scotland, and that ships manifest. People often arrived on the same ship as family or friends who preceded them. Interesting that Ann and her son Andrew and daughter Anne are listed as English? [end] source S75
